Impact of education on society and social behavior

विद्यां ददाति विनयं,
विनयाद् याति पात्रताम्।
पात्रत्वात् धनमाप्नोति,
धनात् धर्मं ततः सुखम्॥

Knowledge gives discipline, from discipline comes worthiness, from worthiness one gets wealth, from wealth you get good deeds, from that comes joy.

Education has become one of the clearest indicators of life outcomes such as employment, income, social status, and is a strong predictor of behavior, attitudes and wellbeing. Education is often used by people to shape their ‘social identity’, framing their understanding of themselves and their relationships with other people.

Education gives us knowledge of everything in this world and the world of here after.

The researchers analysed data from the British Social Attitudes Survey, the British Household Panel Survey and the International Social Survey Programme. Findings indicated a clear association between education and wellbeing. The results suggest that higher education levels are associated with higher levels of health, wealth, generosity, wellbeing, trust among people, political interests, hostile attitudes toward immigrants, respect for minorities, serving attitudes towards nation, optimistic, full of self confidence, humble, responsible and cultured. Most of the positive effects of education are linked to the benefits associated with achieving essential primary and further university education.

Whereas key finding was, This ‘education effect’ is both robust and relatively stable over time.

The first thing that strikes me about education is knowledge gain. Education gives us a knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something better. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life. Some say education is the process of gaining information about the surrounding world. But then again, information cannot be converted into knowledge without education. Education makes us capable of interpreting things, among other things. It is not just about lessons in textbooks. It is about the lessons of life. One thing I wish I can do is, to provide education for all and no child left behind so to change the world for good!!

Education creates a sense how to live a pragmatic life and how to cast pleasant influence on others to teach them how they can solve their problems. We should keep in mind that don’t qualify yourselves for the sake to make a source of earning.

Education is important in the creation of any democratic society. As Franklin D. Roosevelt says, “Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education.” People need a good education if they want a good democracy.

Education is needed to make a society geopolitically stable. Without a proper educational system available to everyone, terrorists could use to radicalize people. In other words, geopolitical stability is one of education’s effect on society and its members.

Education helps the members of society see through the manipulations used by politicians to get votes so that the members of the society can vote for the good leaders who is best able to run the society. Moreover a good leader promotes harmony and a sense of trust among the public.

Education helps promoting tolerance in a society and helps in reducing common conflicts between diverse populations. This one is more relatable case in india which has different cultures, caste, tribes religion, region and languages.

Malcolm X says that: “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” Education is a powerful tool that can be used to make the world a better place to live in. Education is important because it helps members in a society learn from the mistakes of the past. Having an education is important because good education allows members of a society to learn from past mistakes and prevent the same mistakes from happening in the future.

Education is a powerful tool that enables women and other minority groups to gain fundamental rights. It is important to treat women and other minorities with respect in the classroom. This injects good social traits among students, which soon will turn into a good society. Education reduces violence and crime in societies.

Education creates hope for the future.  Giving people hope that they can improve their lot in life
. In each of us there is a hope and dream which when fulfilled, can be translated into benefit for everyone and greater strength for nation.
